This article contains all release notes for the year of 2023.
LEX
Filevine’s new releases for LEX 2023 include billing improvements, an Org-level Documents page for Docs+ users, and Sidebar—a brand new way to converse in Filevine.
Documents
Docs+ users can search and preview all documents across their Org, all on one page. Learn more about Documents.
Sidebar
Have quick conversations in a window that can be opened anywhere in Filevine. Learn more about Sidebar.
Office Add-in
Save Word, Excel, and Powerpoint files directly to a Filevine project, create projects and contacts, and attach the file to the project’s Activity—all from within the Microsoft Office program. Learn more about the Office Add-in.
Billing Timer Page
On narrower screens, the timer now opens in a separate timer page, making it easier to use the timer on mobile devices.
Billing Email Invoice
Send invoices directly via the Send by Email option. Invoices are attached to the email as a PDF and are sent to the project contact’s primary email address.
Vinesign Hybrid Signing
Vinesign hybrid signing allows users to sign in any order, or in a grouped order, meaning that they no longer need to wait for one signer to sign before receiving the document. Users can select sequential, simultaneous, or grouped signing order for Vinesign documents.
March
In the March releases, you’ll find improvements to the documents page and search, tag troubleshooting assistance, Sidebar updates, Lead Docket updates, improved email templates in Vinesign, bug fixes, and more.
Billing
In the Timesheet flyout panel, two new keyboard shortcuts have been introduced:
- Ctrl/Cmd + Enter = Save
- Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + Enter = Save and New
Invoice files conforming to the LEDES 1998B format can be generated individually or in bulk directly in Filevine. Learn more.
Filevine now includes a pre-bill workflow, including an invoice approver role and two invoice statuses between “Edit” and “Final.” Learn more.
Docs
- The Documents filter for Title Contains are no longer case-sensitive. Both “Title Contains” and “Doc Contains” will support fuzzy matching in addition to finding exact matches on search terms entered.
- In the past, a user would have to be an Org Admin in order to rename a .vine file. This was inconsistent with other file renaming, and has been updated to allow non-admin users the ability to rename .vine files.
Documents
- Documents Preview functionality has been updated to remember a user's selection after switching pages or logging out.
- Documents paging and sorting behavior has been improved. Users should notice less lag when they navigate through Documents page results.

- Refactored KPI report for quicker load times.
- A2P Updates to enable phone numbers to be created during messaging verification step.
- File Upload: Now available as a field option for the Lead Docket to Filevine integration.
- Integer and Decimal custom field: Now available as a field option for the Lead Docket to Filevine integration.

Partner Permissions
- Authorization for Partner User and Org Owner: Increase the speed to begin implementations/migrations and reduce the operational cost to FV ops to authorize Partner Users and Client Org Owners
- In-App Provisioner: when a partner is assigned, the users in the Partner's SSO will be granted a set of advanced permission so that they can begin implementation and migrations sooner. App Provisioner will be QA'd and finished towards the end of next week. But the code for authorizing a partner user is merged to master.
- When a client user is made Org Admin, the user will now be assigned a set of advanced permissions to reduce the reliance on FV Ops and decrease the time to begin implementations and migrations.
- Bulk assign/unassign Advanced Permissions added to Advanced Access Tab: A new toggle will be available for Org Admins who have advanced permissions to toggle on or off the advanced permissions for another user in the org. This is an enhancement to the work already done with the Advanced Access tab.
Sidebar
- We've added the ability to edit the title of an existing sidebar. Click the title from inside the sidebar to edit it.
- We've improved the performance of the project search when creating a note or task in Sidebar to better handle users with many projects.
Tags
- The reason that a tag merge fails is now included in the error message that shows in the UI, rather than being relegated to the console.
Vinesign
- Made page load speed improvements to documents and template list.
- All Vinesign emails were updated to HTML format.
Vitals
- Users can now view project tags and the first five vitals in the vitals bar in the project header. Learn more.
Bug Fixes
- FIXED: Bug where files added to the upload list within a sharelink folder were replacing the existing files rather than adding to the list; they are no longer replacing existing files.
- FIXED: When a user creates an event in the project calendar and is not an attendee, the event will show up immediately, rather than requiring a refresh.
- FIXED: When editing a time code inline in the Timesheet, clicking into the field and then away no longer clears out the data that had been entered.
- FIXED: Lead Docket sub-statuses can now be deleted when no message, task templates or leads are associated.
- FIXED: Add/Remove Pages was removed from Production due to PDFTron release in latest update.
- FIXED: Beginning on March 6, the “final quantity” was missing from newly-created time entries (as seen in the billing items report); that’s been repaired, such that any new time entries will get a “final quantity.”
- FIXED: When adding time details to a task, if the Billable box was unchecked, the Chargeable box remained checked; that’s not a valid state for a time entry; the UI has now been updated to preclude this situation
- FIXED: Certain firms' Report Fusions templates were not loading.
- FIXED: Outlook Plugin not working outside of US/Canada.
- FIXED: In the past, when downloading a larger file, the download would not show progress in the browser download bar. This has been resolved and progress will now display.
- FIXED: Previously, a copy of a file that was generated in the current location folder required a refresh to appear. This has been fixed.
- FIXED: The subtotal on the invoice PDF incorrectly treated all entries as if they were fully chargeable, no matter what, although the overall invoice total displayed correctly.
- FIXED: If the user belongs to multiple Orgs, the columns for "Original Total" and "Final Total" now show in the UI for the billing items report when the user has rate permissions.
- FIXED: Birthdate within __days before today criteria was not working.
- FIXED: Project search in Sidebar not working for certain firms.

Billing
- Bulk invoice actions are now captured/included in the audit report.
- Users who have only guest permissions will no longer see the icons/nav options for Timesheet or the billing timer in the header
Docs
- Documents users now have the ability to filter files created and edited by a specific user or lists of several users, including Filevine System and Guest Users.
Documents
- Recent documents now appear on the Documents page. This feature allows users to quickly access some of their most relevant files, streamlining workflows and enhancing user productivity. Learn more.
Lead Docket
- New Filevine Contact Search box to add Filevine Contact to Leads. This includes the ability to add a new Filevine contact right on the lead. Also allows you to limit the field to specific tags based on field-specific contact.
- New Button and field for File Upload within a Lead.
- Improvement to Automations: Automations will continue to run outside of business hours. We have also improved the resiliency of automations by triggering actions if a triggering event occurs while one automation is still processing on the same lead.
- Custom Statuses for Lead Docket has been released to all users. Read about statuses here.
- File custom fields search box is now case insensitive. All files matching search terms will return in search results regardless of title case.
- Added the ability to use custom fields in message snippets. Previously, this was only allowed for standard fields.
- The "edit message snippet" screen’s dropdown to "select a custom field to insert" is now searchable.
- Leads Report custom fields now exclude selecting a File Upload custom field to include in the report.
- New Feature: Ability to move leads from a sub-status to any sub-status or status.

Vinesign
- New login flow for Vinesign in anticipation of future SSO capabilities. Upon login, email will be checked before password is required.
- Vinesign previously excluded the {{ClientFullAddress}} Lead Docket merge code since it is multiline. Address fields will now merge as a single line when added to a Vinesign template.
Bug Fixes
- FIXED: If a user overrode the default rate for a time entry, the API call for the invoice was returning the default rate, and not the override. This has now been remedied.
- FIXED: Select customers were reporting issues with links to specific deadlines not functioning. Instead of directing to a specific deadline event, links were redirecting the users to the Activity Feed. This has been resolved.
- FIXED: The referral email showed any referred date instead of the first referred date in Lead Docket.
- FIXED: If the quantity for a templated expense was edited after the expense was created, then the invoice PDF showed a price of $0.00; that problem has been remedied.
- FIXED: In some situations, the Final Total was not showing correctly in the Billing Items report; this has been repaired.
- FIXED: Referral Status email was showing wrong calculations on prior 30-day referred cases in Lead Docket.
- FIXED: Previously, users in dark mode reported that while dragging a file to move or copy, the file name would disappear. This has been resolved.
- FIXED: An issue preventing users from deleting tags within the Tag Manager has been fixed.
- FIXED: The “Invoice Doc Link” column in the Report Builder again shows the name of the file and allows the invoice PDF to be downloaded.
- FIXED: An issue was identified where filtering in Documents and then reloading would cause the filter cards to disappear from view. This has been resolved.
- FIXED: Message template configured as plain text is set to send to referred to firm and a note is added.
- FIXED: Texting a lead where the lead and related contact has the same number, the text came in twice in Lead Docket. This has been resolved.
- FIXED: Referral groups were not in group name order in Lead Docket. They now display in group name order.
- FIXED: Sending a note on a referred lead with no referred to firm errored in Lead Docket. This has been resolved.
- FIXED: Adding or editing a custom field in Lead Docket tried to get FV selectors even if the CMS selected was not FV. This has been resolved.
- FIXED: Added info on edit Referred status if not configured properly to let user know that some key sub-statuses are missing in Lead Docket.
- FIXED: LeadsByOutgoingReferralSource report to prevent display of the report when required referral statuses are not configured in Lead Docket.
May
Billing
- In Advanced | Billing | Invoices, there is now an option to Refresh.
- By default, the most recent 1000 invoices load.
- If you use the status filter, it filters within that list of 1000.
- If you adjust the status filter and click the Refresh option, it will re-query the database to pull the most recent 1000 invoices in the designated status.
- To reset to the most recent 1000, regardless of status, change the status filter to All and click the Refresh option.
- User-Specific Time Totals in Billing: The time totals bar in Timesheet now provides user-specific daily, weekly, and monthly totals for hours tracked, replacing the org-level charts. Read more.
Docs
- Documents Filter Settings: Documents users can now customize the order and expand/collapse preference for filter sections. To move a filter section, simply hover over its icon and drag it to a new position.
- Uploaded By and Last Edited By Documents Filters: Two new Documents filters have been added: “Uploaded By" and "Last Edited By," which give users the ability to easily locate specific files based on user activity.
Read about these updates in the Documents article.

- A2P updates including new registration page with opt-in suggested language/added to firm website.
- Filevine Mapping page redesigned with tabs.

Project
- Projects now load more quickly, and changes save more promptly, thanks to an alteration in our handling of the Vitals information.
Sidebar
- You can now attach a project as an artifact in the Sidebar creation phase or to an existing Sidebar. This means you don't need a specific artifact for a Sidebar, but can converse about an entire project.
- You can now assign a task to any user associated with a project from within Sidebar. This is consistent with task creation across Filevine and allows the user to assign a task even to someone outside of the Sidebar. Previously, you were only able to assign a task to a participant in the Sidebar you were in.
Vinesign
- Added new merge codes for generating Vinesign input fields when a document is generated and sent through Vinesign. This is available when documents are sent both through Filevine and through Lead Docket.
API
- The “Get Note List” call now supports “taskFilter” and “filterByType” query parameters.
Bug Fixes
- FIXED: If an event is longer than two weeks, the middle weeks are now also shown in week and day view on global and project calendars.
- FIXED: When adding an auto-tag to a custom field, the tag is now added on the first attempt; it used to take two tries to get it to save
- FIXED: When editing tags, customers were often encountering an error: “Current user not permitted to edit this note”; this error has been tamed, so that users with permissions of collaborator or above are able to edit tags
- FIXED: Resolved an issue where changes made to PDF documents using our PDF editor were not appearing in downloaded documents if a user did not first refresh the page. Now, edits made with the PDF editor will be correctly displayed within the downloaded document.
- FIXED: Import Map right-hand flyout was showing blank when selecting "View Map" in Lead Docket
- FIXED: If multiple email addresses somehow came to be in use for calendar sync, there was no way to get out of the bad state; we’ve therefore ensured that the “remove” button is present even in the errored state, which will give a workaround to clean things up
- FIXED: In Advanced | Billing | Invoices, the table now correctly sorts and filters by the “Approver” column, even if not all projects have a designated invoice approver.
- FIXED: SMS Queue delay due to a complex routing query. The queue is now caught up and all messages should appear in Filevine.
- FIXED: In Advanced | Billing | Invoices, it is now possible to expand the column for Project Name.
- FIXED: In Advanced | Billing Setup | Invoices, if you changed the “Manually Apply Payments” setting, Invoice Approver role, or LEDES law firm ID, the other values would occasionally reset; that no longer happens.
- FIXED: Clicking the email of the secondary contact no longer displays the primary contact email in Lead Docket.
- FIXED: Leads report filter menu for the date column was running off the intake date instead of chosen criteria in Lead Docket; that is no longer the case.
- In Advanced | Billing | Invoices, it is now possible for users to download invoices in bulk, without getting a permission error.
- When the time totals bar in Timesheet includes days from more than one month, the dates will now be labeled properly.
- In some situations, voiding an invoice failed to fully release applied payments; this has been tidied.

Docs AIFields
AIFields use a file as input and extract various types of information or generate summaries from the file, based on a list of analysis types.
A new analysis type has been added for AIFields. Medical Records - Medical chronology will extract the provider, complaint, pain score, procedural codes, diagnosis, treatment, and medications, plus any follow-up or referral instructions for each date of service in a medical record.
This update combines the approach of several of our original medical records prompts into a single analysis type capable of outputting basic medical chronologies.
Documents
Users are now able to download and combine files across multiple projects in Filevine Documents. This functionality mimics the actions already available in Project Docs and elevates them with a sleek UI update and our new queue panel. Learn more in the Documents article.
Lead Docket
Changed the behavior of statuses to prevent naming a custom status Signed Up or Closed. Added language on Signed Up and Closed Status screens explaining these two statuses can be renamed but not duplicated.
Collection Sections in Lead Docket are now available. Learn more.
Resource Center
Clicking on the Help Center button in the Resource Center will now give users a more personalized Help Center experience. You'll be able to see all your support tickets and respond to any that are open directly in the Help Center. This will also send your Org information to the Support team for a better support experience.
Vinesign
Fonts UI improvements selection in the right-hand menu.
Bug Fixes
- SMS routing improvements: Text messages will now never go to an archived project, and text put into a thread if there has been texting activity in the last 30 days (rather than 7 days).
- In some situations with the multi-timer, if you tried to save a running timer immediately after editing the description, it would not save; this has been remedied
- If you had a newly created contact on a project and then a texting thread with that contact, the contact’s avatar did not display correctly in the notes and comments; this has been fixed
- In some rare instances, it was not possible to change the project billing settings; it now is
- In the add/edit modal for billing entries, if you clicked inside a code selector field, clicked away without selecting a code, and then clicked inside the code selector field again, the dropdown list did not show up; it does now
- Resolved an issue where clicking the Docs section while in a subfolder of a project did not result in the expected redirect. Now, clicking Docs redirects users to the root folder of the project.
- Fixed the renaming functionality in custom sections. Users can now press enter to save changes to a doc's title.
- Fixed a bug where the doc actions menu was missing when initially uploading files to multi-attachment fields in custom sections. All menu options are now available without needing to refresh the page.

AIFields
For users with AIFields, multi-file attachment fields can now be used for AIFields! Docs attached or uploaded to configured multi-file attachment fields will be automatically sent for AI analysis, and results will now include line breaks for job start and end date as well as for Doc Title.
We also upgraded several AIFields prompts to make the AI better at picking the most relevant information from a document set. We also removed de-duplication steps and restructured the prompt language for the analysis types listed below.
- Deposition - Summarize the client depo and identify any red flags: Customers using this prompt can expect a more organized display of the AI's findings. This includes sections for main facts, key quotes, contradictions, unclear statements, evasive responses, potential damaging admissions, corrected quotes, inconsistencies with other evidence, hearsay, and credibility considerations. We also added page numbers for quick reference.
- Police Report - Summarize what happened: Similar to our updated medical chronology prompt and deposition prompts, we've given this prompt a new structured overview format that presents incident details more clearly. You'll get details for drivers, passengers, and any witnesses listed in the report, as well as a new section outlining actions and outcomes such as citations or arrests. This update also addresses a known issue where there was occasional confusion between parties 1 and 2 in the narrative portion of the police report.

- Scaled up how many AIFields jobs can run at the same time, so AIFields users in Orgs with multiple prompts configured should notice quicker AI processing time.

- If an Org is fully registered for A2P with our provider and in the Filevine database, then newly created numbers were not always being registered automatically; they are now
- In Timesheet, default rates are now included in the exported spreadsheet; before, it would show as $null or as a blank cell (for CSV and for Excel exports, respectively)
- In Advanced | Billing | Invoices, the Overdue status filter at the top of the page now returns the expected results
- In Advanced | Billing | Invoices, overdue invoices are indicated in the table with a clock face and orange coloring; this styling was incorrectly showing for some invoice statuses (e.g., Void) if the due date had passed; it is now restricted to invoices in Final or Partial status
- If the user had opted in to notifications for bulk invoice actions, the notification message for bulk email only had a title but not body; it's now a bit more informative
- We fixed an issue where moving multiple files between projects caused the loading screen to get stuck; now the action occurs and files are moved as expected.
- There was an error that resulted in regenerated DocGen files not saving to their assigned Auto-Move To folder. This has been fixed so that the original file remains in its folder, and the regenerated file is added as a new version.
- Previously, dragging and dropping a folder onto the fax modal's upload field would hide the field without explanation; users are now notified that the field supports single file uploads.
- We fixed an issue where deleting a file from a single-file attachment field and immediately re-uploading a new doc didn't delete the first file from Filevine; now, files are deleted and new files are saved as expected.
- We added an error message for timeouts in the Undelete tool, ensuring users are informed when deleted items cannot be loaded.
- The "next" button was remaining inactive after a user would cancel an upload in the Bates Stamp and Docs Combine window. The only way to move forward was to close the window and start again or click the tab at the top. This has been resolved.
- If the Invoices tab in Advanced | Billing was filtered and then a bulk action was performed, the filters were incorrectly cleared; this no longer happens
- If the Invoices tab in Advanced | Billing was filtered and then the org was changed, the filters half-stayed in place; they now are correctly cleared
- Vinesign: Bug Fix for auto resizing of text due to uploaded document not having parameter on textbox.

- Improved performance for the Get Org Billing Items query via the public API, specifically with the unsynced parameter set to true; this should help with some timeouts that have been seen

- In the project billing section, Settings tab, the rate schedule dropdown options are now alphabetized and no longer contribute to entropy in the universe
- Clicking on a folder in projects now correctly displays its subfolders, resolving the issue where the root folder view in certain projects was persisting.
- Guest users within projects were previously unable to view custom sections containing AIFields; this has been resolved.
- In some situations, the timer started for a previously visited project, rather than the current and expected one; this has been fixed
- Attempting to register an individual phone number for A2P – whether manually or via automated processes – would error out; this has been addressed
- Even if the org’s A2P registration is not fully complete in the Filevine database, it is again possible to generate a phone number from Advanced | Org Phone Numbers; moreover, a feature flag has been added so that we can easily disable this option in the future

- Resolved an issue affecting AIFields statuses for documents previously attached to a file attachment field within custom sections. Now, removing and reattaching a file from a section will initiate the new AIFields job, clearing the status and displaying success or error only when the job has run.
Billing
- Payment links will now request the outstanding invoice balance, rather than the invoice total, at the time the link is generated (i.e., when sending the invoice via email)
Docs
- There was an issue preventing PDF templates from being previewed within DocGen Setup. This has been identified and resolved and PDF templates should now preview normally.
- Fixed the disappearance of the Send Email action for .eml files after a page refresh in select environments. The action is now consistently available for these files.
- Addressed a bug where copying a file using the Move/Copy option in the Doc Options menu would move the file from the original location. The original file now stays in place during the copy, as expected.
- Resolved the Invalid Operation error when moving folders from one project to another.
- Fixed a bug where not all available files for Undelete were showing in the Undelete tool.
Lead Docket
- Increased Limit of API Expense/GetAll to 1,000 Expenses
Payments by Filevine
Filevine has officially released its newest product line, an electronic payment platform called Payments by Filevine.
- Payments by Filevine enables customers to accept Credit, Debit, ACH, and digital Wallet (Apple/Google pay) payments through an integrated interface.
- Customers can use either trust or operating accounts to collect payments into their system
Trust account payments adhere to trust guidelines where fees are drawn from an associated account instead of the account making the payment. - Customers can request payments through integrated links on invoice emails from Filevine, via generic links (open-ended links that can be posted on a website/email) or through ad-hoc payment request links generated in the payments platform.
- When a payment is received, the law firm and the payor will receive email confirmation of the payment being made.
- Updates after initial release:
- Generic Payment links now support a “memo” field which allows the payor to insert a note about the context of the payment (for instance, if they’re making it on behalf of someone else or on a specific invoice)
- Payments now has an “Export” option available for both pending and completed transactions that allows a payments user to export the full transaction list to Excel.
Sidebar
- Sidebar UI has been refreshed:
- Starting a Sidebar chat with teammates and starting a SidebarAI chat are now prominent buttons at the top of the window
- You can filter by status (Active, Resolved, All)
- The avatar next to the message now shows if it is a Sidebar with multiple people involved
- Users can now have multiple AI threads:
- Messages no longer clear after 24 hours
- Keep threads around to remember certain answers
- Users can add AI responses as notes or tasks
- Click the Note/Task button inside a SidebarAI chat
- Select the message to add to the note or task
- Create the note or task and the messages will be in the body of the note/task
- When adding a Note/Task from within Sidebar, the checkboxes were often off the screen depending on your view of the Sidebar. It will now scroll to the nearest checkbox to make it easier to add the message to the note or task.
- When inside a Sidebar and you have an unread message, you will now see a notification dot next to the back arrow so you know you have an unread message in another thread.
- When selecting the thumbs down icon on a SidebarAI message, we now point the users to our support options.
- When pasting a link in a Sidebar message, it now appears as a clickable link.
API
- Improved several behind-the-scenes processes for quicker retrieval of custom sections and faster folder reads.
- Accelerated the most commonly used taskflow action endpoint.
Bug Fixes
- A bug in AI Job reporting has been resolved to display all job records, regardless of their age, eliminating the previous 1000-job limit.
- Collaborators and above can now Add/Edit Tags for comments that they did not create
- The Get Invoice call in the public API will now always include a due date, even when the due date has not been entered directly but is calculated based on the invoice terms
- In the public API, calls to the endpoints /Notes and /tasks did not return a meaningful value for the “assignee” field ; they now do
- The documentation for the public API related to the /Notes and /tasks endpoints has been updated to more accurately describe the function of the endpoints:
- i.e., the documentation for the Get Note Feed for User endpoint now includes the following message: This endpoint was formerly known as Get Note List; it has been renamed to reflect its actual function. The Get Note Feed for User call returns the current unread Feed items for the API user, up to 25 at a time.
- i.e., the documentation for the Get Tasks for User now includes the following message: This endpoint was formerly known as Get Task List; it has been renamed to reflect its actual function. The Get Tasks for User call returns the current tasks on the Feed for the API user, up to 25 at a time.
- An incoming fax that was converted to a task lost the ability to Block Sender; the behavior now parallels that of emails converted to tasks, meaning that the Block Sender action is available even after conversion to a task
- In Firefox, the project funds table in the project billing section was not showing the detailed data; this has been tidied
- The inline, line-item total in Timesheet (visible to users with rate permissions) was not reflecting the billable/chargeable setting for the individual line item; this has been sorted
- In Advanced | Billing | Invoices, the invoices were incorrectly being ordered by the created date; they will now be listed by the invoice date
- Vinesign Bug Fix: Annotation resize was broken after Bold and Italic Button is clicked.
- Vinesign Bug Fix: Wrong Error Message when use of non existing template ID
- Bug fix: A UI bug in the Customs Editor resulted in inconsistent spacing and coloring of the AI Linked badge on multi-line text fields. This issue has been addressed.
- An incoming email, converted to a task, and subsequently marked as spam (without the task being completed) would hang out in the assignee’s Tasks list – but would be completely inaccessible; this has been fixed!
- There was an issue in which contingent tasks in a taskflow, belonging to a project template that was exported and then imported, did not always have the correct phase ID associated with them; this meant that any auto-tasks set to be created “Only if project is still in X Phase” never met the phase criterion and therefore never triggered; this has been fixed

A new Jump to Top button brings users to the top of a section for easier saving. Learn more.
AIFields and AI Doc Review
- We had reports of the AI inserting pieces of its Police Report Summary prompt into analysis results. We resolved this issue, as well as enhanced the AI’s contextual understanding of OCRed text for improved accuracy.
- We streamlined handling of larger documents for more effective OCR processing, and optimized scalability settings to process more documents simultaneously. We also extended the OCR timeout window. These changes should result in fewer OCR failures, meaning more consistent, reliable text searching and AI analysis of documents.
Billing
- Fixed issue with adding timekeeper ID to a rate schedule
- Orgs without billing enabled will no longer see an option to "Add a time entry" on notes
- An emailed invoice will not include a payment link if the invoice's balance is $0
- Updated code set management has now been enabled.
- The “Unset as Default” option has been removed from rate schedules. To change the default, the user now simply designates the desired rate schedule as the default.
- A change in the behavior around default rate schedules will be fully enabled on 12/18. Moving forward, the “default” rate schedule will be assigned directly to new projects (i.e., changes in which rate schedule is selected as the default will not affect them). Learn more.
Conflict Checker
- Filevine has updated its Conflict Check section to provide greater detail about each potential conflict as well as allowing for notes to be added to conflicts and PDF downloads for offline verification. Learn more about the conflict checker updates.
Docs
- The "Go to Note" link in the Project Docs section was redirecting to the Feed instead of directly to the specific Feed item where the doc was attached. This has been resolved and will now take the user to the Feed item.
- We fixed a bug where attempting to download a file attached to a comment before creating the comment on the Feed or Task page resulted in the file not downloading.
- Previewing .txt, .xml, and .csv files in a Sharelink was resulting in a UI error. Users can now successfully preview these file types.
- Previously, adding a second tag to a document without first deselecting the file would remove the first tag. Both tags now persist as expected.
- We added a notification when an email file fails to generate during the process. Previously users were not being informed of failures.
- We fixed confusing UI in Manage Org Folders where "Rename" and "Move'" options were grayed out but still clickable. Now, these options are accessible and functional as expected.
- We applied a fix for files failing OCR by extending the timeout window, which should result in fewer OCR failures for users.
Docs+
- We added a setting to the Bates Stamp menu for extra room to be added to the margin of a document before the stamp is applied, eliminating the risk of Bates stamps overlapping with content.
