To give firms simpler, more predictable billing and greater flexibility, Depositions by Filevine is moving to a subscription-based pricing model. Beginning January 1, 2026, firms must have an active subscription to continue scheduling proceedings or uploading files.
This subscription model allows you to tailor and customize your plan to your firm’s size, workload, and specific needs. With one clear monthly payment covering the core deposition and summary services your team relies on, you can more easily budget, track costs, and manage high volumes of proceedings or uploads throughout the year.
FAQs
How does the new subscription pricing work for hosted proceedings?
Instead of paying after each proceeding, you’ll choose a set number of hours for the year, and pay a flat fee each month based on that number. Throughout the year, you can use those hours as desired, with the flexibility to add more hours or roll over unused hours to the next year.
Every hosted proceeding still includes these features at no extra cost:
- In-app scheduling
- Automatic email reminders for participants
- Access to the Transcript Toolkit
- Audio and video* recording
- Optional video redaction or removal
- Audio-synced rough draft
- Clip cutting
- Page:line and narrative summaries
We’re also introducing Service Summaries to help you provide a simple, straightforward explanation of costs to your clients, free of charge.
Some services—like certified transcripts, cancellations/reschedules, certificates of non-appearance, or third-party vendor costs—may still require additional fees after the proceeding.

How does the new subscription pricing work for deposition summaries?
Choose your yearly number of transcripts and recording uploads for summarization in the Transcript Toolkit. You can add more throughout the year if desired, and any unused uploads will roll over to the next year.
Do I get any new features just for switching to the new pricing?
You can expect the same great services and technology with your new subscription pricing—with some new exciting features on the way. If you’re interested in exploring other Filevine tools, our team can help.
What is my new pricing?
Pricing will vary depending on your needs. To explore your options, make sure to connect with your Account Executive.
How long will I have support for my scheduled proceedings?
If you move to the new subscription pricing, you’ll be able to continue scheduling proceedings as usual.
If you choose not to switch, you’ll still have access to attend or cancel any proceedings that were scheduled before January 1, 2026. After that date, users who haven’t switched to the new pricing will not be able to schedule new proceedings or reschedule existing ones that take place after January 1, 2026.
How long will I have access to my data (transcripts, files, etc.)?
Even if you do not switch, you will retain access to all transcripts, summaries, and uploads in your cases as usual.
That said, you will not be able to upload any new transcripts or recordings for summarization if you do not switch by January 1, 2026.
Will the interface be the same?
While there may be minor changes in the aesthetics of the platform, the functionality will remain largely the same—with some new exciting features to be added soon.
