If you are unable to view new updates to Filevine, it may be because of problems with your browser’s cache or cookies. Your browser will store some information from websites for future use, which can cause problems with loading or updates on sites.
To solve this issue, first try clearing your cache and logging back into Filevine. If you still do not see updates, you can try clearing your cookies. Clearing your browser’s cookies will sign you out of any site where you are signed in, so use caution and try clearing your cache first.
Clear Your Cache
To clear your cache, determine which browser you are using and find instructions for clearing that browser’s cache.
Clear your cache in Chrome: In settings, select More Tools > Clear Browsing Data. Make sure to uncheck “cookies and other site data” to avoid being logged out of all sites. Clear data.
Clear your cache in Firefox: In settings, select Preferences > Privacy & Security, and then under “Cookies and Site Data” select “Clear Data.” Make sure to uncheck “Cookies and Site Data” to avoid being logged out of all sites.
Clear your cache in Safari: In the Safari app, select Safari > Preferences > Advanced > Show Develop menu in menu bar. In the Develop menu bar, select Develop > Empty Caches (⌥⌘E).
After clearing your cache, logging back into Filevine should result in functionality and speed improvements.
Clear Your Cookies
If you have cleared your browser’s cache and are still unable to view the updates, try clearing browser cookies as well. Clearing your browser’s cookies will sign you out of all sites set to sign in automatically. To clear your browser’s cookies, determine which browser you are using, and find instructions for clearing that browser’s cookies.
In some browsers, you may be able to clear cookies from a single site, allowing you to remain signed in to all your other sites. If you clear cookies from a single site and still see issues, you may need to clear all cookies.
Clear your cookies in Chrome: Follow instructions under “Clear all cookies” to clear all cookies. In settings, click More Tools > Clear Browsing Data. Make sure “Cookies and other site data” is checked and Clear data.
For specific sites, on the linked site click “Delete cookies from a site” and follow the instructions in the dropdown.
Clear your cookies in Firefox: Follow instructions under “Clear cookies for any website” to clear all cookies. In settings, click Preferences > Privacy & Security. Under “Cookies and Site Data,” select “Manage Data.” Click “Remove All Shown.”
For specific sites, follow the steps above, but in the Search websites field enter “Filevine.” Select “Remove Selected.”
Clear your cookies in Safari: Follow instructions under “If Safari doesn't load pages from multiple sites” to clear all cookies. Select Safari > Clear History. Select a time period and “Clear History.”
For specific sites, select Safari > Preference > Privacy > Manage Website Data. In the search bar, enter “Filevine.” Select all and remove all.
After clearing your cookies, logging back into Filevine should result in functionality and speed improvements.
