Users can receive email, text, or Slack notifications for Filevine’s tasks and notes, Fusions, Mailroom, and more.
Notifications are found in Setup, which can be accessed by clicking on your profile picture in the top right of the page and selecting “Notifications” from the dropdown menu. There are two types of notifications:
- immediate notifications, which are sent when the event occurs, and
- daily digest notifications, which are emailed daily and can include an overview of notes, tasks, or upcoming deadlines.
Immediate
Under the “Immediate” tab, you’ll find the list of events in Filevine that can trigger immediate notifications. These notifications can be emailed, texted, or sent as Slack notifications.
Check any of the events you would like to receive notifications for.
Notification Methods
Immediate notifications can be sent by email or through text or Slack once they have been configured. Click on the “Configure Notification Methods” tab to set up either method.
To set up text notifications, enter your number and then enter the verification code you receive on your phone.
To set up Slack notifications, click “Sign in with Slack.” You will be asked to provide your company's slack domain and your Slack credentials. You can then select the channels where you want to receive the notifications. You can specify a Slack channel for every notification trigger.
Once text or Slack has been configured, you will be able to check immediate notifications for those methods as well.
Daily Digest
Daily digest notifications are sent via email in the morning or the evening. The daily digest is a short list of key updates on notes, tasks, and upcoming deadlines
To set up daily notifications, check any of the events you would like to receive notifications for either the morning, the evening, or both.
Notification Pause
In order to protect our users against spamming, Filevine has limits regarding the number of notifications that can be sent to a user. The limits are as follows:
- 50 notifications in one hour
- 100 notifications in one day
If you receive notifications above these limits, your notifications will be put on pause until your activity reduces. To reduce your notification activity, review your notification settings and permissions.
Recommendations for Notifications
If you are receiving notifications above the limits, review the projects that you are subscribed to. Subscribing to a large number of projects can cause the notifications limits to be reached. You can review the projects you are subscribed to in the Project Hub, using the “My Projects > Subscribed” filter.
You can also utilize the Tasks page in Filevine for viewing and managing your tasks, and use the Feed page to manage notifications from cases.
