This article outlines what permissions exist in Filevine, what those permissions mean, how they are used, and how to change them.
Filevine has several different levels of permissions, many of which intersect and overlap with one another. The three major types of permissions in Filevine are team status, Admin status, and roles.
What Permissions Are
Team status controls the user’s access to project data and notifications. There are three levels of team status in Filevine: guests, collaborators, and followers. Learn more about team status.
Admin status controls additional permissions that a user has on either an Org or project level. There are two different types of Admin status in Filevine: Org Admin and project Admin. These two types of Admin status provide the user with additional permissions on the Org and project level, respectively. Learn more about Admins.
Project roles are used to make assigning autotasks easier. Roles enable a user to assign tasks based on project responsibilities, rather than on a specific user. A *Primary is a special role that controls project notifications and default task assignments. Learn more about roles and *primaries.
