LOIS Plugins are packages of one or multiple skills that are pre-built by Filevine, like a daily brief of your caseload, or a review of discovery materials before they are sent.
An Account Admin can add plugins to your LOIS for everyone in your firm to use.
Install a Plugin
In Build > Plugins, Account admins can install plugins for their firm. Non-admin users can navigate to this section to view all installed and available plugins, but they cannot install a plugin themselves.
The Plugins section lists all plugins already installed for your firm.
Click the plus icon to view the plugin catalog. Search plugins, or filter by category Plugins that are already installed have a gear icon.
Click on any plugin in the catalog to view its details:
- who added the plugin
- date on which it was created
- category
- description
- skills, with a description for each skill
In this plugin details modal, account admins can Install or Uninstall the plugin for their firm. Once a plugin is installed, its skills can be invoked by anyone at the firm.
Required and Default Plugins
Some plugins that are useful for most firms are required or installed by default for your firm.
- Required: some plugins are installed by default and are unable to be installed. These plugins contain skills that are useful for all firms using LOIS, like a skill for creating other skills.
- Installed by default: Some plugins are installed by default because that are practice-agnostic and useful for most firms. These skills can be uninstalled by an account admin.
- Available for installation: All other plugins are not installed by default, but can be installed by the account admin.
Filevine Skills
Skills added as part of a plug do not appear in your Skills section and cannot be edited. Any user can view installed plugins and their skills in the Plugins section.
Once skills have been added as part of a plugin, they can be invoked like any other skill, both intrinsically (by LOIS, if it judges the skill useful for the prompt) or explicitly by the user. To explicitly invoke a skill, type /. Skills added as part of a plugin are listed under Filevine Skills in the dropdown.
