Filevine’s Claude Connector lets Claude work in your Filevine account, allowing Claude to search and make updates using Filevine’s API.
The connector uses the Filevine API as its underlying interface, so Claude can perform supported Filevine operations while respecting the permissions and access of the signed-in user.
What the Claude Connector Can Do
Because the Claude Connector exclusively uses Filevine’s API as its tool, it is more limited in scope than Filevine native AI product, LOIS.

This connection authorizes Claude to act on your behalf to access, create, and update your Filevine data.
Step-by-Step
The Claude Connector as an individual-level tool. Each user can add the Filevine Connector to their Claude individually. The connector inherits the same permission level your user account has in Filevine.
- In either Claude desktop or Claude on the Web, open Customize > Connectors and add Filevine.
- Once you select Connect to Claude, you’ll be taken to a webpage, where you can click Continue connecting.
- Sign in at the FVID (Filevine Identity) page. If prompted, select your tenant account.
- Then, review the scopes that Claude is requesting access to confirm they are correct, and click Approve.
- Identity scopes: your user identifier, email address
- API scopes: tenant data, Filevine API access, API gateway access, tenant read, connector access

Manage the Connection
Once you’ve set up the connector, click on the Filevine connector in the list in Claude to disconnect it, or to adjust tool permissions. By default, all tools are set as “needs approval.”
Disconnection and Session Expiration
Filevine’s Claude Connector expires based on the FVID session, which is controlled by your firm Admin in the Account Manager > Tenant Configuration. Here, an Admin can adjust the session timeout interval. By default, the internal is one day, but it can be extended up to three months. Learn more about adjusting session timeout.
Use the Connector
The Claude Connector as an individual-level tool. Any actions that Claude takes will be read as actions taken by that user within Filevine. When you make a request, you can expect:
- depending on your tool permissions, Claude will request approval to use the tools.
- Claude lists the tools it loaded and ran (e.g., search projects, list projects, user Orgs)
