From the docs section of any project, you can generate a secure download link to share with others. The length of time the download link is active for and who has permission to use it can be controlled for greater security.
Where do I go?
To find this feature, go to the Docs section and find the document you wish to share. Click on the 3 dots to the right and select "Share Link." If a share link hasn't been created for this yet, you'll click the green button, New Share Link, to create a new link.
The new screen that appears is where you allow who is able to use the link in the following 3 options:
- Anyone with the link can access the document.
- Password protected
- For specific Filevine users
You can also set when the link will expire:
- In a day.
- In a week.
- In a month.
- In two months.
- Or a custom amount of time.
Once you have finished selecting the settings, click Save.
At anytime, you can adjust the settings for who has access and how long the link is active for.
Sharing the Link
In the link's settings, you'll find options to share the link by coping the link to your computer's clipboard or by emailing the link.
By clicking on the respective buttons to the right of the link, you'll be able to copy or email the link. If you've set up the auto-CC email feature in Filevine, you'll be able to send the link and the project email will be cc'd to that email. This way, any additional emails to and from the recipient can be forwarded into the case.
