Users with access to the Tag Manager Advanced tool can create, edit, archive, and search through their tags. They can also perform bulk actions like merging and deleting tags.
The Tag Manager Advanced tool is a central place to view and edit all the tags used in your Org. Users with access to this tool can search, edit, and create project tags.
To navigate to the Tag Manager, click the main menu in the top left corner and select Advanced from the dropdown. Then, click Tag Manager in the left-hand menu.
The Tag Manager shows a list of all tags, along with their tag color and the number of projects, contacts, documents, and activity items where they have been used.
Search and Filter
Tags can be filtered by Active, Archived, or All using the buttons at the top of the tag list. Learn more about how to archive tags in the following section.
Search the tags list using the search box in the top right corner. The list of tags will filter as you enter a search term.
Click a column header to filter tags by that column. For example, you can click the Name column header to filter the tags alphabetically, or click the Project Count header to filter tags from largest project count to smallest. Click the column header again to reverse the sort. An arrow will appear in the sorted column to indicate the direction of the sort.
You can also click on the column header menu for more options, including pinning and autosizing columns.
Create, Edit, and Archive
To create a new tag from the Tag Manager, click the Create Tag button in the top right. In the opened Create Tag flyout, enter the tag name, choose the tag color, and, if you like, add a description to help others use the tag more effectively.
When you’ve filled out the fields to your satisfaction, click Create Tag.
Click on any existing tag in the list to open the Update Tag flyout, where you can edit the name, color, and description.
You can also archive the tag here by toggling the Archived option. If a tag is archived, users can no longer add that tag to projects or contacts. Project or contacts with that tag will keep it.
You can merge, change the color of, archive, or delete multiple tags by selecting the desired tags in the list.
In the Selected Tags flyout, click the merge icon to merge multiple tags into one. Choose the tag that you would like to merge the others into, and then confirm the merge. The selected tags will be merged, and all items tagged with any of the selected tags will now be tagged with the chosen single tag.
Click the paint icon to change the color and the file icon to archive the tags. Click the trashcan icon to delete the selected tags, and type DELETE to confirm.
Auto-tags can be added in the Auto-hashtags Advanced tool. When you add an auto-tag, it must be selected from the existing list of tags. Learn more about auto-tags.
To create an auto-tag that does not yet exist as a tag, you must first create it as a tag in the tag picker or the Tag Manager.
