A powerful and exciting feature of Filevine is the inline editing option. Previous to this feature, if you wanted to make a change to a document, you would need to download the file onto your computer, make your edits, save that document, and then upload the new version back to filevine. We understand how tedious this was, so the development team has done an amazing job at adding inline editing. With inline editing, that process is much more streamlined.
The computer requirements for this include Windows + Office 2013 or higher, or, MacOS Sierra 10.12 + Office 2016 or higher. The documents must be Microsoft Office files and must have extensions in lowercase (i.e. .docx, but not .DOCX.)
- For documents in the Docs section
- , you’ll click on the Edit button below the download button.
- For all other places, click on the downward arrow and select "Edit Doc...."
The file will then be opened on your computer which may require you to enable editing. Once that’s done, any changes you make and save here will be automatically saved in Filevine as well. Just make sure you check the save status at the top before closing the document.
By utilizing this feature, you’ll be able to easily and efficiently make edits to your documents. If you experience any difficulties with this feature, please reach out to the support team.
