New Feed + Activity (BETA)

You can now view and use an updated version of the user feed and the project activity section, which provides improved views of items, with more versatility. 

Opt-in and Out

The new feed + activity is an ongoing beta. Not all functionality is available in the new feed. We wanted users to experience the new design and functionality without having to wait, so we’ve made the new feed design available with a toggle that users can turn on and off. 

Eventually, the new feed + activity will have all of the functionality of the older feed—it’s just in progress. Once the new feed + activity has all functionality, the toggle option will be removed.

Across the top of your user or activity feed, you’ll see a message inviting you to toggle on the new feed. Click on the toggle to turn the new view on. (This action toggles the new feed on for both the user feed and project activity; they do not need to be toggled on and off separately.)

You will be able to toggle the new view feed on and off whenever you like. So, for example, you might have the new feed toggled on, but toggle back to the old feed to copy the item link. 

The new feed is toggled on and off at the user level, so your feed view choice will not affect any other user.

View

In the new view, the item type icon has been made larger and more central, and the project name is clickable and linked to the project. A checkmark icon serves as the “got it” action, which removes the item from the feed, replacing the file box icon in the old feed view.

Items in the new view also list item tags across the top, rather than at the bottom, and include new tags like “Unread,” which are applied to items automatically.

Card and Condensed View

The new feed has two different views: card view, and condensed view. Card view includes:

• item icon
• item tags
• project link
• from user
• time and date
• message text
• attachments
• task information

The card view also includes a quick way to assign the item as a task by clicking + Assign a Task at the bottom. If the item is already a task, you can change the assignee and the due date without opening the item.

Condensed view allows you to view more items at once and get a better overview look. To switch to condensed view, click on the toggle in the top right corner. 

Condensed view includes:

• item icon
• item tags
• project link
• the first line of the message text

Flyout

Click on an item to open its flyout, where you can view more details like the comments, and add tags and comments.
