DemandsAI is a document workflow for automatically drafting demand letters (or other documents for which information exists in Filevine) via an AI assistant, leveraging both Filevine and Outlaw (FVDA).
The demand is generated in an Outlaw widget connected to a respective project template in the Customs Editor.
Overview
To draft a demand using DemandsAI, you will select your demands template, generate the document, and select the appropriate human-known information on the Overview panel accessible via FVDA. This human-known information can include the respective medical providers, deposition materials, expert reports, submission details, and strategic positioning for a certain case.
The AI assistant will process this information and other relevant Filevine data to draft each section of the demand requested by the user via “Generate” links within FVDA. Sections can be re-generated if needed, and any part of the document, human-written or machine-written, can be edited. Once complete, you can export your generations into PDF or Word versions of the document.
Create the Demand
In the project, navigate to the Outlaw widget field set up for DemandsAI. If prompted, select the correct template from the dropdown. Edit the name of the demand document and click Generate.
Select Case Data
Most demand letters will require information that is best known by the human generator, like which medical providers the AI assistant should cover in its draft or what date the letter should be dated. In the Overview panel, use the blue URLs or Select buttons to confirm those human-known items.
For example, when confirming the medical providers the AI assistant should discuss in drafting, you can use the Select Medical button to open an overlay. Here, you can select which data to provide to the AI for drafting. Click Update to confirm your selections.
AI Drafting
Once the human-known data points have been provided or confirmed in the Overview tab, click the Document tab to finish the generation of the demand letter.
Click on the starred and highlighted Generate buttons corresponding to each section that you want the AI to draft, such as the “Introduction,” “Statement of Facts,” and “Liability” sections. The AI assistant will draft each such respective section, as requested, and can re-generate them with variations in wording if desired.
Once generated, each section can be edited or removed as needed by clicking on the vertical ellipsis in the upper-right corner of the section and selecting the respective user option.
Download Documents
Once the demand letter is complete, you can view, export, and download the document in various formats. Like other documents generated with the Outlaw widget, the source demand letter is a .vine file.
To view downloading options, click on the download icon in the upper-right corner of the document editor.
You have the following options:
- Preview the document as a PDF inside the editor view
- Download a .docx (Word) version of the document
- Download a PDF version of the document
