A notice of proceedings is a document directing a witness to appear to be deposed under oath. It includes the time, date, and location (or virtual meeting information). The document is sent to all parties in a lawsuit in advance of the proceeding date to notify all parties.
After scheduling a hosted proceeding through Depositions by Filevine, users can upload the relevant notice of proceedings. Once uploaded, all event attendees can then view the notice by opening the event link and selecting Event notice.
Heads Up!
A notice must be uploaded before the scheduled start time to ensure the proceedings are properly served.
Upload Notice
Once you schedule a proceeding, the Upload Notice modal appears. From this modal, you can copy the event link to include in your proceeding notice.
To upload your proceeding notice, you can either drag and drop the file into the “Proceeding notice” box, or select Click to upload to choose a file from your device. Supported file types include .pdf and .docx.
You can also upload a notice from the Cases section. Select the case where the proceeding is scheduled, and then select the folder for the proceeding. In the Actions panel on the right, click Add proceeding notices and select the file to upload from your device.
Delete or Replace Notice
To delete or replace a proceeding notice, select the relevant case in the Cases section, and then select the folder for the proceeding. Select the Notices folder, then select the ellipsis icon ⋯ next to the notice file. Click Delete, and then click Delete again to confirm.
Once deleted, the notice file will no longer be visible to event attendees.
In the Actions panel on the right, click Add proceeding notices to upload another notice.
