Filevine’s Doc Combiner can be used to combine multiple files into one. Use the Docs+ Combiner to combine multiple files before upload, or to combine documents within a project’s Docs section.
Combine
The Doc Combiner can be found in the Docs section along the top right corner.
To combine documents, you can either select the documents in the Docs section and click on the combiner icon, or open the Combiner and select the documents from there.
On the first page of the Combiner, you will be able to either add documents from the project’s Docs section or upload them from your computer. If you are combining documents that are not in the Docs section, those documents will not appear separately in the project. They will only be present in the combined document.
You will also be able to reorder the documents as you choose by dragging and dropping or by using the move buttons beneath the listed documents. To use the move buttons, select the document in the list and click the buttons to move it either up or down as desired. If you’d like to move it all the way to the top or the bottom, you can use the To Top and To Bottom buttons.
Once you have selected and ordered your documents, click Next. On the next page, choose the name for the combined document and select the folder you would like it to be in. The default name of the combined document will be “Combined Doc_PROJECT NAME_Date of Combine.” The default folder will be the folder from which you began the combine job.
While the documents are being combined, a collapsible progress window appears at the bottom left of the screen. The progress window displays any ongoing combination job(s). Each job shows the number of documents being combined and, once completed, includes a link to the combined file.
Failed Documents
If a combine job fails, the progress window will display a link to the error summary.
Clicking this link will open the Doc Combine Errors modal, where the user can view which document(s) and page(s) failed to combine.
