In the Client’s section of the Payments page, you can view all clients you’ve interacted with using Payments. You can also add cards on file for clients from this page, which allows you to charge the card without making a payment request.
Navigate to the Payments page by clicking on the Payments button in the top right corner of the Billing Advanced tool.
On the Payments page, click on the Clients section in the lefthand side menu.
Clients
In the Client section, you can view a list of all Payment clients and their details. Client names and contact information are added to this page when a client enters their name and contact information when filling out a payment request. (This is the case regardless of where the payment request originates.)
Clients can also be manually added to this page. To add a new client, click + Add Client in the top right corner and fill out the client information in the flyout. Click Save.
Click on a client to open that client’s righthand flyout, where you can view details. Click on the pencil icon to edit the client name and information details. When you’re finished editing, click Save.
Filtering and Sorting
The clients can be sorted and filtered by all columns. Click on the header of a field to sort the data by that field. Click on the arrow of a field to filter the data by that field. You can also pin and autosize the columns. Learn more about managing the table.
Add Card on File
In the Clients section, you can add a card to keep on file for each client. The card can then be charged without sending a payment request.
To add a card for a client, click on the plus under the “Add Card” column for that client, or click on a client to open the flyout.
You have two options for how to add cards:
- email card link: choose this option to send the client an email with a link, where the client can input the card information
- generate card link: choose this option to generate a link where you or the client can input the card information. This option is useful if you would like to input the card information for the client.
The client (or you on the client’s behalf) can enter the card information. They will be asked to acknowledge that saving this payment method allows the business to use it for future payments.
Once the card has been added, you can view the card details in the Client section of the Payments page.
Edit Card
Each client can add one card to keep on file. You can follow the same process to add a new card, which will overwrite the old card on file.
Charge Cards on File
Once a card is on file, you can view the card information in the client list and in the flyout details for that client.
You can now process a payment without making a request. Click on the card icon in the client list, or open the client flyout and click New Charge to Card.
Enter the destination account and the amount for the charge, and click Charge Client.
When the card is charged, the client receives a receipt via email, and the transaction appears in the Transaction section of the Payments page.
