The Vinesign Integration in Filevine is currently available for U.S. Clients. Canadian firms should contact their CSM or customersuccess@filevine.com to be added to the list.
This article discusses the Filevine/Vinesign integration, which allows users to create and send Vinesign jobs using any .pdf file in a project. Before reading this article, make sure that your Org is set up with Vinesign, and that you are familiar with using Vinesign and connecting Vinesign with a project.
To create Vinesign jobs from a Filevine project, that project’s Org must be integrated with Filevine. To integrate your Org with Filevine, follow the steps in Setting Up API v2 to generate an API key. Then, email support@filevine.com for assistance with the last step in integrating Vinesign with Filevine.
Creating a Job
Find the .pdf document you would like to use anywhere in your project. Select the document and click on the caret to the right of the document, or on the vertical ellipses dropdown menu in the Docs section. For any .pdf documents in projects associated with Vinesign, you will see the option “Vinesign.”
Select “Vinesign” from the dropdown to open the Vinesign module. If you are not already logged into Vinesign, you will have the option to log in or sign up here.
Create a template just as you would in Vinesign by adding, placing, and sizing fields in the document. For help deciding which fields to place and for step-by-step instructions, consult Using Vinesign. When all desired fields are in place, click “Next.”
On the next page, fill out the fields just as you would for a Vinesign job. The “job name” will become the name of the signed document as it appears in your Docs section, so make sure to choose a name you can easily identify. “Associate with a Project in Filevine” will fill automatically with the project you are in. If you would like to use this template again, select “Save as template” and enter a template name to save it within Vinesign. When all fields are filled to your satisfaction, “Send.”
Viewing Details
Once a Vinesign job has been sent from Filevine, the status and other details of a job can be viewed in a document’s properties. View a document’s properties by clicking on the caret next to the document and selecting “Properties.”
The documents and properties can also be viewed in the Docs section. In the Docs section, any document sent as a job will have a Vinesign icon next to it and will be marked with the hashtag “#vinesign-sent.” Once any job has been signed, the document’s hashtag will change to “#vinesign-signed.” Select the document, click the information icon to open the properties flyout, and then scroll down to the “Vinesign” section to see details.
Select the document, click the information icon to open the properties flyout, and then scroll down to the “Vinesign” section to see details.
Viewing the Signed Document
So long as the sent document is associated with a project in Filevine, the signed document will appear attached to a note in that project's activity feed.
Additionally, the signed document will appear in the Doc section of the project. The signed document will be named with the job name you chose.
