You can now connect your external calendar events (Google Calendar or Outlook 365) to specific projects in Filevine.
Here are the instructions at-a-glance:
- Copy the project’s email address.
- Open the settings of a calendar event.
- Add the project email as a guest or a person to the event.
- Click the Save button to send an invitation to the project.
**Notice: If your account's calendar integration was setup before Jan 17th, 2019, you will need to remove the integration and reintegrate it in order to receive the updated version. If your Filevine calendar has not been linked with your external calendar, please see this article.
How To Connect an External Event
Step 1: Locate and copy the project’s email address
1) Open the appropriate project.
2) Hover over the project's Vitals section and click, "More Vitals."
3) Copy the project's email address.
Step 2: Open the settings of a calendar event
In Google Calendar or Outlook 365, create a new event or click on and edit an existing event. Be sure that the calendar service you have signed in to is the calendar that you have linked with your Filevine account. If your Filevine calendar has not been linked with your external calendar, please see this article.
Step 3: Paste the project email into the attendee section.
The project email must be included as an attendee. Include any additional people who need to be listed as attendees to this event. If someone is not listed as an attendee, this event will not display on their personal Filevine Calendar. Your Filevine account will be invited by default.
Step 4: Click the save button.
Upon clicking the save button, your calendar may detect that the invited guest is an external email address, meaning one that is not part of your business email domain. You must confirm sending an invitation to the project email or else the project will not be linked properly.
After the project email has been sent an invitation, typically it will be added to the project within 15-20 minutes. This may vary depending on email traffic into Filevine. If the calendar event has still not appeared after 24 hours of inviting the project email, your calendar integration may need to be troubleshooted with the Support team.
