We have updated the appearance of all collection sections to greatly improve accessibility and presentation. As part of this, we have given you three display options to choose from. We invite you to explore each option to find which one best fits your needs. Whichever display option you choose for a specific collection, the system will remember and retain that setting for you across all projects of that project type. Each of the three display options will be highlighted in their own section down below:

View #1 - The Item View
Visibility - Upon first glance, you may notice that each collection item’s preview takes up less space and displays more information. This is mostly achieved by the addition of columns to more efficiently use the space available. Depending on your screen size and how zoomed in/out the screen is, there may be anywhere from one to four columns.
Fields that contain no data are now auto-hidden from the previews. Before this update, the preview displayed, “Unknown,” for each field that had no data, which took up of extra space. Once data is entered into that field, it will appear in the preview as normal. The exception to this is if a field meets its conditions to be hidden in the customs editor; those fields will hide themselves accordingly. Finally, action buttons will appear regardless of their activated or not-activated status.
List Fields - For list fields (person lists, URL lists, multiple file attachment lists, etc), you will notice that any instance of 4 or more entries will be condensed to show 3 of those items and a “Show All” button to display all entries. The additional entries can be shown or hidden by clicking on this button.
Navigation Buttons - Clicking into a specific collection item now isolates that item for your browsing and editing. Upon clicking the save button or the close button, the item will close itself and you will be brought back to view all of the items with the collection item just visited listed at or near the top. There are new navigational arrows that should be used when wanting to go from one item’s detailed view to the next. If there is ever any unsaved data, clicking on a navigational arrow will also prompt the “Do You Want to Save?” popup.
Drop-down Menus - The drop-down menu for files and documents expands in a way that always keeps the drop-down menu with the document it belongs to. This is to prevent any confusion when there are multiple documents but can sometimes alter the visibility temporarily while the drop-down menu is open. Please be aware.
View #2 -The Expanded Item View
The Expanded Item View shares the same updates as the Item View updates listed above. The difference, however, is that each collection item’s height has been adjusted to display all fields with existing data. In short, no items have an up-and-down scroll bar in this view whereas items in the Item View can.
View #3 - The Table View
Most of the features listed above don’t apply to this display option because the Table View is very different. The Table View’s purpose is to provide a bird’s eye view of all collection items in a project. At first glance, you will see that this resembles a report of the collection items. However, there are further display options and customizations that are unique to this display option.
Each column’s width can be changed by clicking and dragging on the right end of it. This is to be used to fit more columns on the page. Changes in width will be retained for your display settings for all cases of this project type.
Clicking on the Settings icon, you’ll be able to select which columns of information you’d like to hide from this bird’s eye view. By simply unchecking the checkbox, the column will stay hidden so that you can create a unique Table View that meets your needs.
At any time, you can click on the “Reset to Defaults” link and then the Save button to revert back to the original Table View.
Changes made in this Table View will apply to the same collection section of all projects of this project type, but only for your account. Other users will not be affected.
