This article will discuss how to set up or edit your profile page and account settings in Filevine. Setting up your profile and account includes choosing a photo, name, username, email, and password. You will also have the option to share your calendar and to set up 2-factor authentication.
For more information about becoming a new user in Filevine, you can read our “When you Get a New Employee” article. Filevine’s Setup also includes your notification settings. Learn more about notification settings.
Setting Up My Profile
Navigate to your profile by clicking on the hamburger menu in the top lefthand corner and selecting “Setup” from the dropdown. Make sure that “My Profile” is selected in the lefthand menu. On your “My Profile” page, you can add or change your photo, first name, and last name, and to connect calendars to Filevine.
Upload a new photo by hovering over the photo and clicking on the upload icon that appears, then choosing a photo from your computer to upload. Filevine displays profile pictures as a circle and automatically centers the photo for you. For this reason, it is best to choose a picture that is square with the image centered for your profile.
To change your first or last name, simply click in the text box and type in your desired text. The checkmark to the right of the field will turn green to indicate that your name has been changed.
Filevine calendars can be shared with Google calendars or Office 365 calendars. To get more information, read our article on sharing your Filevine calendar.
Setting Up Account Settings
Navigate to your account setting by clicking on the hamburger menu in the top lefthand corner and selecting “Setup” from the dropdown. Then, click on “Account Settings” in the lefthand menu. On the “Account Settings” page, you can change your username, email, and password and set up 2-factor authentication.
You can update your username by clicking in the field and entering your desired text. You username must be unique across all Filevine users. The checkmark to the right of the field will turn green to indicate that your name has been changed. For this reason, it is best practice to determine your username early on.
Change your email by entering the desired text in the “Email” textbox. After changing this text, you will be asked to enter your password to confirm the change. Filevine will send all email alerts to the new email.
Change your password by clicking on the “Change Password” button. You will be asked to enter your current password, and then enter and confirm your new password. If you have forgotten your password, read our article on resetting your password.
2-factor authentication, via text of Google Authenticator, can be set up from the “Account Settings” page as well. Read our article on 2-factor authentication to learn how to set it up.
